I return to post correct memory, with heart felt apology. Fred,i'm truly sorry for your loss.Cla I always felt you fellows were to great guys. I'm glad we were in the same high school. My prayers continue for you and your family. Blessings Pat " Class of 62"
We are so sorry to hear about Floyd. We enjoyed knowing him and experiencing the fine care he always gave. With our deepest sympathy to all the family.
Apparently I became Floyd's first patient when I was rushed to his office for burn care. The result of my curiosity with a shiny coffee pot full of piping hot coffee. Evidence of that day is a tiny wrinkle of a scar on my right shoulder. I would see Dr Floyd all throughout my childhood and though I haven't seen him in years I have a generalized memory of my visits. Being the first born, I think there were probably a lot of visits. A typical visit. My mom and I would enter the clinic and I’d make a bee line to the kid’s corner. I’d always pick up the Mike Mulligan book. Then my name would be called. Fear would grip me and I’d slowly make my way to the doorway and proceed down the hall. Always to the left. I’m getting a shot today. It’s going to hurt, and I’d tear up. But then Dr Floyd would enter the room and within minutes I felt relaxed. His bedside manner was sooo good. We’d just talk for a bit and that gained my trust. There would be the quick prick of the needle and we’re all done. Of course then we’d chat some more. It’s a short snippet in his 40+ career, but it’s made an indelible memory for me. I felt safe. I felt cared for. Such simple things it would seem, but they can have a great impact on a child. I mean….I’m still recounting memories from all those years ago and when I think of his name I feel safe and cared for. Thank you Dr Floyd.
This makes my heart break, to hear this news. So many wonderful memories and watching the family grow over the years. I think we all grew up together on the lake . I'm so sorry and feel the pain you are all going through. Heaven gained another wonderful person!

How do you memorialize a man as great as Dr. Jones!!?? From being like a second father to me and seeing me through my teen years, to being .married and then delivering our sons, before retiring from OB. He sealed in me my passion for medicine. He was not only a great physician and co-worker, but a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, and sportsman! I remember having the best big-mouth bass ever, that he caught down in the Ozarks on vacation!! God knew he was weary and struggling and although it saddens and breaks my heart, I know he is having a great reunion in Heaven with his friends and family gone before him!! Peace and comfort to you Sue, Bryan, Eric, Justin, and Jessica and all your families.
Dr Jones was a very Kind and Caring, Gentle man. He treated Bob and I with nothing but respect. I always enjoyed seeing him, even though it was usually in the Hospital lobby, since he retired. He knew me, asked how the Family was and was accepting of a Hug. Our Thoughts and Prayers, Bob and Robin
Sue and family: I am so sorry to hear about Floyd's passing. What I remember most about Floyd is his smile, what a great smile. He was a wonderful, thoughtful, special husband, dad, and most definitely a superb doctor. I will never forget the stories that he and my dad, Fred would come back with after their hunting trips. Also the memories of after play parties at your house with the SWITG. Such wonderful times and memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and you know he and dad are up their "talking trash" about who got the biggest deer.

Sue and family, Once again I opened up KMAland and wished I hadn't. Seeing Floyd's passing really hit home. Brent, our eldest, was Floyd's first patient. I remember his nurse, Wanda C, telling us later that he had wondered if he'd have any patients his first day out. He treated 17. Still later he delivered our son and daughter. I've read each and everyone of the messages from his friends, patients, and anyone who knew him and totally agree. So, after thinking of what to possibly say, I really miss him....
I was saddened when I learned about the death of Dr. Jones. I had the privilege to know him and his family, many years ago, when I lived in the Shenandoah area. He was an exceptional person, doctor, family man and community supporter. I remember he was an avid hunter, he laughed easily, and he was very proud of his wife and children. Dr. Jones will be greatly missed and I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family. Ruth Miller
My heart is saddened by the news of Dr Jones passing. He was a great inspiration & a person I could always be authentic with. Unlike some doctors, he had an ability to care on a personal level that separated him from the rest. I truly enjoyed working with him at SMC & he will always be respected as a man of integrity & knowledge. Prayers & love to all that have been touched & blessed by his life.
So sad to learn of Dr. Jones' death. I was a patient that appreciated his care for many years. I begged for a hug at my last visit before his retirement. He was wonderful!!! So sorry for your loss. Helen Pollock
Sorry to hear of Floyd's passing. Condolences to Sue and the family. I learned a lot from Dr. Jones early in my career that stays with me today.
So sorry to hear about Dr. Jones I was one of his first patients when he came to town. He was a great man and a very caring doctor. Shenandoah was very lucky when he came to town and will miss him. He delivered my three kids and he always knew if something was bothering me without me telling him. He would always say LINDA tell what is wrong and would not give up til he found out and helped if he could. Always smile on his face.
Dr. Jones's save my life I had an MRI done by another dr. And I was never told what was on it. I went to see dr. Jones to get ready for knee surgery. He asked me what they found 4 months before. I told him havent heard a word he investigated it on his computer. Dr. Jone's turned to me and said no knee surgery you are going to see Dr. Woods? I said doc my baby makeing part are not in use. He told me I had a mass in the lower part of my abdomen. He was very upset. Within 2 weeks I had surgery for cancer. He found it in its first stage thank god. He was the best. We laughed and cried over the year. He told care of my kids as they were growing up and out of the house. Lost of memories. He was one of a kind. Wonderful man with a huge heart to care for people. Prayers to all family n friend. Myrna Hayes.

The Legendary Dr. Jones....
It’s that simple.
An incredible doctor and a true man of character. From delivering both my sister and I to being our doctor all through childhood to the endless support that he gave our mother in her transcription business over all of the years she worked for him is immeasurable.

Love to you all. You are in our hearts and prayers. We love you.
Doc was the greatest, kindest and most caring doctor ever. He was there for our whole family from his start in Shenandoah up until his retirement. He was always so sweet and gentle and made you feel safe to tell him anything. Then he would give you that little pat to let you know it was all ok. He always treated me kindly and with respect at work and meant so much to me. Prayers for the whole family. Doc will be truly missed by so many who were lucky enough to know him. Rest In Peace dear Doc.
Our hearts are sad in the loss of Dr. Jones. He had such a caring heart & a genuine concern for each of his patients. R.I.P. Dr. Jones, you will be missed by so many.
Doc, as we all referred to him at Sun Valley Lake, was a wonderful man.
Doc and Sue were one of the first 10 Members to build a home at Sun Valley Lake in the mid 70s . The Jones family has been neighbors to my parents and my family for over 45 years!
Doc loved to fish, ( which he has passed down to all Jones Family Members) and loved Sun Valley Lake. He was always interested in ones family. Always a positive influence , also ready to provide medical advise and treatment over the years for our family lake injuries. He will be missed for many reasons.
Condolences to Sue and The Jones Family

At such a loss for words, other than to say my condolences to his family. We, my sister Tisch and I, were close in age and went to school with Bryan. Dr. Jones was our family doctor for years. My condolences and prayers to all of the Jones family. As you are all heartbroken, so am I as he had been my doctor since i was 15 back in 1978, and delivered my 1st born son. And then had quit delivery, but stayed in practice and was my Doctor up until his full retirement a few years ago. He was as good of a doctor as he was a confidant. He was a great father and husband and was very proud of his children, often talking about them with a lot of pride. I carried a lot of respect for him. Please know I will keep you all in my prayers as you go through this difficult time.
