On January 6, 2006 in Omaha, Nebraska Jason and Amy (Dreyer) Baldwin welcomed their son, Elijah James Baldwin into their loving family. From a very young age, Elijah was known for his adventuresome spirit. He displayed a very loving and kind heart to those whose path he crossed. Elijah had a deep love for the Lord. This was displayed to others through random acts of kindness and his willingness to serve.
Elijah grew up on the family acreage between Shenandoah and Farragut. As a 7th grade middle school student at Shenandoah Community Schools, he was passionate about many activities and enjoyed keeping busy. He enjoyed playing football, basketball, wrestling, belonged to the SWI Shockers baseball team and was percussionist in the Shenandoah Middle School Band. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking, exploring, hunting, fishing, riding motorbikes and hanging out with his family and friends. Being a deacon in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and being involved in youth group brought him much joy and personal and spiritual growth.
Those preceding him in death include his grandfather, Chris Dreyer; uncle, James Baldwin; great-grandparents, Fred and Shirley Dreyer, Robert and Bessie Shotton and Bill and Irmalee Baldwin and cousin; George McGargill.
He will forever be loved and cherished by his parents, Jason and Amy Baldwin; 5 brothers, Spencer, Jonah, Abel, Malachi and Micah; sister, Hannah; grandmother, Cheryl Dreyer; grandparents, Richard and Linda Baldwin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
Elijah had a way of making everyone he met feel special. He was wise beyond his years. He loved everyone and everything about his life. On Sunday, March 17, 2019 a tragic accident took Elijah from us physically. His memory will forever live on in stories and remembrances that each of you hold within your heart. Allow those reflections to comfort you during this time of loss.
So Sorry for your loss Amy & Jason... My heart goes out to both of you....
I don't know you, but I live across the street from Snow Canyon and belong to the Ward that helped you. There were many people praying for you in our ward and I was one of them. My heart aches for you and I have cried many tears for your loss. After reading these tributes and seeing Elijah's beautiful face on this page I feel like I know him. He is a delightful and beautiful child. You will have one amazing angel watching over you from heaven until you meet again. Life is short. It won't be long. Prayers and love, Rachael

To all of the Baldwin family, we are so sorry for you loss. Having lost four grandchildren over the years, we know the pain. Not like you do but still a hurt that never goes away. Keep this wonderful young man's smiles and stories in your hearts forever. Prayers continue for everyone.
Dear Baldwin Family, I am also from Southern Utah and heard this story. I don't know you but I grieve with you. I have also lost a son and know the pain you are feeling. I do know that all the love and prayers help and I hope you find that too. May you find some peace and comfort at this difficult time knowing that many are praying for you and your sweet little son. May God comfort you with his love and light.
I just read about your son and although I do not know you I am deeply saddened for your loss...I cannot imagine how difficult it is for you to lose someone so young and sweet and dear to your heart...my most sincere condolences.
To the Baldwin Family, my heart goes out to you and I am deeply sorry. I am a Southern Utah local. I have taken my children to Snow Canyon frequently, and my heart is completely broken for you. I know deeply this could easily have happened to any one of our children, on any given day. Our terrain invites exploration and this was simply a tragic accident. There is nothing you, or anyone of us, could have done. We are feeling this alongside you. From my family, and from many other Southern Utah families who feel an overwhelming compassion for you, we love and are praying for you. I hope you are able to quickly erase any unkind things others might say who might not have full understanding that accidents happen, no matter how much we'd like them not to. I hope you are filled with peace and comfort and the love and compassion others have for you. The Jones Family
God's Blessings and comfort to your family. Rejoice in knowing that a Special Angel is watching over you and yours, while resting eternally in His Kingdom.
I am so sorry for your life shattering loss! My 16 year old daughter, Kaylee Marvin, daughter was hiking with her friend this past June and also fell about the same distance. It has truly been the most excruciating 9 months of my life...I have also had some amazing experiences where I have felt closer to heaven than I ever thought possible. Our children live on. They are and will continue to do wonderful things. You will experience miracles if you stay close to the Lord. If you are watching, you will be able to see His tender mercies everyday as He helps to carry you through. I have shared many experiences and feelings on my Facebook page which I have made public in hopes to help as many as possible. Sending you our love and prayers- Sydni Ann Johnston
We are so sorry for your loss. Elijah was such a kind young man and always willing to help others at school. He touched the lives of many and we are both glad to have known him. We'll be thinking of you all. Janie and Hannah Stearns
Baldwin family: We are so sorry for what your are going through. We are so grateful and will cherish all the times Elijah was at our house, and I am very fortunate to be able to coach him. He was the most kind, respectful, and generous kid I have ever met. I have never met a kid that was more interested in playing and making our 4 year old Tate happy while he was at our house. He was Tate's best friend. He touched so many lives and had a big impact on me. You should be very proud. Praying for your peace and comfort.
Words cannot express our deep sympathy for your family during this time. It's a pain that no one should have to experience, and one that only God can comfort. Please know that we are praying for you all during this time and in your time of grieving. "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18
