Kenneth Lloyd Potter, son of Lloyd and Ruth (Wilson) Potter, was born on December 27, 1920 south of Clarinda, Iowa. Following a brief illness he passed away on April 4, 2019 at the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.

At the age of seven he went to live with his grandparents George and Carol Wilson. He attended Coin, Iowa public school and graduated with the class of 1938. He enjoyed sports and was active in all school sports.

On March 1, 1941 he was united in marriage to Thelma L. Polsley and to this union a son was born who died at birth. They celebrated their 78th wedding anniversary this year.

In 1942 he was called into military service with the U.S Army. He took part in the D-Day invasion in France. He also served one year (1950-1951) during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in September of 1951. Upon returning home in December of 1951, he and Thelma moved to Omaha, Nebraska. He worked 25 years for BF Goodrich Company. Then he was employed by Sieg Automotive in Omaha. In 2015 they moved to Shenandoah, Iowa. He attended the Coin United Methodist Church. He enjoyed cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers, especially the football team.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, brother Jim and sisters Lois Marie and Thelma Pauline. He is survived by his wife Thelma Potter of Shenandoah and many other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2019 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah with military rites provided by the Shenandoah American Legion Post 88 Color Guard.

Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2019 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.

Burial of cremains will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 8, 2019 at the Elmwood Cemetery in Coin, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the Coin United Methodist Church.

CandleKenneth, you will be missed. Both you and Thelma are an inspiration to all. Betty and I enjoyed your visit to Memphis years ago, wish we could have had many more. Thelma, we wish we could be with you but our prayers are with you.
